At last Monday's annual Mascot Bowl in Lehi, Utah Jazz mascot Jazz Bear launched a Hail Mary wobble ball from atop a 350-foot crane, and Utah Blaze wide receiver Aaron Lesue was able to haul it in for a Guinness World Record.--- According to Utah Blaze director of communications Mike Dijulio, "Guinness was not on hand, but they confirmed the catch as the world record for highest-thrown-and-caught football." Jazz Bear's bomb reached speeds of over 80 mph, and miraculously, Lesue managed to keep his arms from tearing off. See the video below:

Though Lesue's catch is impressive, I'm pretty sure the boys over at Nerf beat this record back in the '80s.

The annual Mascot Bowl is a charity game that features a team of local eighth graders versus a professional squad of mascots from all over the country. It may sound terrifying, but the event is for a good cause, raising money for the Firemen & Friends for Kids charity, which helps underprivileged kids raise money for Christmas presents.
