Dear GYA, I think it goes without saying that my 47 percent comments were taken out of context. If you watch the tape closely, you'll see that I said 47 percent of Americans are indeed freeloaders, but theeeennn -- can I finish? I went on to say how I think Under Siege 2 is a super-underrated movie.---I'm so sick of being taken out of context. Mitt, the liberal media is always pulling this crap. They obviously don't want people to go back and watch Under Siege 2. Anyways, here's some good stuff for tonight:
The Minnesota rap crew Atmosphere will be at In the Venue/Club Sound. The group just released their 7th full-length LP, Family Signs -- this, their only album to be produced with a live band, which means zero sampling but still plenty of that Midwest grit. I self Devine and Carnage are also on the bill. The doors open at 9 p.m.
Big Freedia will be on stage at Urban Lounge. The New Orleans native is known for popularizing underground Bounce music, which is essentially sweaty, down-and-dirty grind music. Local support is from DJ Flash & Flare and DJ Jesse Walker. The doors open at 9 p.m.
The Piano Guys will be at Red Butte Garden. The Utah locals, Jon Schmidt (piano player) and Stevin Sharp Nelson (cellist) are most famous for their YouTube videos filmed in front of mountains, lakes, canyons -- basically, anything majestic. Tickets are $25. The show starts 7 p.m.
Other worthwhile events:
- The Big Shiny Geek Show Pub Quiz will be going down at Lucky 13, starting at 8 p.m.
- Master of the subconscious, Dr. Ken West, will be holding a lecture at One Mind Studio, beginning at 7 p.m.
- Canyons Resort will be hosting the Park City Farmers Market today at noon.
