A showdown is brewing over plans to develop a tar-sands mine at Utah’s scenic Book Cliffs, especially since a Utah administrative law judge approved a permit for the mine despite the company not having received a groundwater pollution permit. Local activists with the Utah Tar Sands Resistance will be organizing Wednesday and presenting a Powerpoint presentation on the latest in the development and how to get involved for future actions.
Check it out, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Downtown Library, 210 E. 400 South
