Dear GYA, Since my music is mediocre and I'm desperately trying to stay relevant, I guess the best way to stay in the spotlight is to say a bunch of weird crap whenever I get a chance. So, with that being said, I'm pretty sure our president hates things that are American -- like cowboys, fishing, Natty Ice and probably parmesan-flavored Cheez-Its. Anything happening tonight that's full-blooded American? - Hank Williams Jr. ---
Hank, I'm not sure what Obama hates. But I know he loves that you're not involved with Monday Night Football anymore. That's a fact. Anyways, here's some 'merican stuff for you to do today:
The legendary reggae band The Wailers will be at Park City Live tonight. Founded as the back-up band to the late Bob Marley in the early 1960s, The Wailers are the quintessential roots-reggae act, with many of the original members still on board. The show starts at 9 p.m.
Stand-up comedian Margret Cho will be at Wiseguys West Valley this evening. Though she once played John Travolta's FBI partner in the film Face/Off, she's mostly known for her biting stand-up comedy. The show starts at 7 p.m.
The indie rockers Protomen will be at Kilby Court. Inspired by the NES Mega Man video-game series, Protomen's music focues on the city that back-dropped the game. Think of it like digi-rock opera. Danger Button will be opening things up. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Other worthwhile events going down today:
- The Big Shiny Geek Show Pub Quiz will be happening at Lucky 13, starting at 8 p.m.
- Cheers To You Midvale will be hosting C2U Karaoke tonight at 9 p.m.
- The Park City Farmers Market will be going down at Canyons Resort, starting at noon.
