Thursday, Utah’s booze business will be the subject of a legislative policy summit being held in Provo, hosted by Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, industry representatives and experts from John Hopkins and Duke universities.---

The bar’s always open for legislating booze at the Capitol and the next session on the hill will be no different. To get a look at what may be on tap for the next session, you may want to check out this legislative summit. A $25 registration fee will include breakfast and lunch for a workshop featuring speakers from John Hopkins University and Duke University, as well as industry representatives from Beam Global Spirits and Wine and the National Beer Wholesalers Association.

The event will be hosted Shurtleff and Utah County Commissioner Doug Whitney. It is being billed as an examination of the costs and benefits of Utah’s liquor laws and policies.
