Twenty years after it was a big-screen hit, A League of Their Own visits a local ballpark -- with one of the stars accompanying it. ---
The 1992 comedy-drama, which tells the fact-based story of the World War II-era All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, will be featured in a free screening at Spring Mobile Ballpark following the Salt Lake Bees game vs. the Sacramento River Cats on Friday, July 27. Game time is 7:05 p.m., with doors opening for those wishing to attend the screening after the 8th inning.
As part of the event, A League of Their Own star Geena Davis will be in attendance, throwing out the first pitch, singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" for the 7th-inning stretch and participating in other special fan activities. As the movie becomes its own special piece of film history, enjoy this special way to see it in one of the most appropriate venues possible.
