Dear GYA, You wanna know why I hate vampires? Really? Have you seen any of the Twilight movies? Four score and ... a long time ago, I made a vow to hunt down crappy actors who do tweeny vampire movies. In the meantime, anything going on that's suitable for an angry, axe-wielding ex-president? - Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter---
Abe, I like your passion. But you're following in the footsteps of my man, Blade, who would have also made an awesome president. Anyways, here's what's happening:
Country music legend Glen Campbell will be performing at the Sandy Amphitheater tonight. With a 50-year music career, dozens of hits and an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Campbell is certain to put on one boot-stompin' performance. The show starts at 8 p.m.
Speaking of musical legends, Jimmy Cliff will be live at Red Butte Garden. Some of you children out there might know him best as the guy who wrote "Hakuna Matata," but his 2012 release Sacred Fire reached number one on the Billboard Reggae charts this year. This guy just keeps crankin' 'em out. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
And in the downtown region, the pop foursome Keane will be taking over the Gallivan Center at 7 p.m. This England-based crew is known for emotional piano-centric tunes like "Disconnected" and "In Your Own Time." The Mystery Jets will be warming things up.
Other worthwhile events happening today:
- Bullets & Belles will be performing at Sapa Sushi tonight at 7 p.m.
- The Salt Lake Bees will be squaring off with the Reno Aces at 7:05 p.m.
- In Cedar City, check out the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
