When Salt Lake City hip-hop stalwarts Numbs aren't making music together, they stay quite busy with solo projects.---

I’ve asked each of the 24 bands from the 2012 City Weekly Music Awards to send us a paragraph or so about what they have going on in 2012. Here's what Numbs and the group's three members have to say about what's coming up.

Numbs:
Our last full-length, Soulburn, was released June 2011. Since then, we have been recording new tracks, but we do not have any official release date on the new LP at this time. We will be playing with Dusk One and I Am Apt & Chance Lewis at ABG’s in Provo on August 24.

Mark Dago (one of the emcees in Numbs):
"Mark released his 8-bit, video-game-inspired EP, Killscreen, October 2011 (free download). He has gigs May 19 and June 22 at 5 Monkeys, and will be playing at the Urban Arts Festival this summer. Also, he will be touring the Pacific Northwest with Rotten Musicians the last week in August. His new EP, Team Scanners, will be released this October with special guests Dizzy Dustin (Ugly Duckling), Kenan Bell and others TBA. And he should have his first novel, Run Riot (a young-adult supernatural mafia monomyth), done by the end of the year.

Gunnar McKell (one of the emcees in Numbs):
Gunnar will release his third solo LP this fall.

DJ Shanty:
Shanty will release his beat album, Megatherium, this summer.
