The gist of this no-money swap meet is simple: Bring what you don’t need to the table and take what you do need, no questions asked, with leftover goods being donated to help refugee families in the Salt Lake City area.---

The “Spring Cleaning” event this Saturday is a great opportunity to help and be helped, even at the same time. Participants are asked to bring in working items you no longer need such as school supplies, kitchen appliances, books, music, linens, bedding, small furnishings, video games but no large furniture. Items brought in are dropped off at the table, and if you see something you need, you’re welcome to take it.

No cash is exchanged, no questions are asked and all leftover donations not picked up by community members in need are donated to the International Rescue Committee that provides the supplies to international refugees who have been settled in to the Salt Lake Valley.

Check it out, Saturday, April 14, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church, Eliot Hall, 569 S. 1300 East
