GYA: Zorro, Fairy Tales and Symphony

Dear GYA, I had a superfluous weekend with the fellas. I slept in a Chili's for two days celebrating St. Paddy's Day, watched a ton of March Madness and I survived on a steady diet of Awesome Blossoms and Guinness. I'm torn because my buddy Joe wants to keep the partying going. However, I think I should spend some time with the family tonight. Any suggestions?- Not Barack, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C.---

Not Barack, you should bring your wife and kids with you next time. I'm sure they would love to sleep-out in a Chili's. Besides, nothing brings a family together like camping. As for today, there are plenty of family-friendly options.

I would go check out Into The Woods tonight at 7 p.m. at the Early Light Academy. It's a musical mash-up consisting of just about every fairy tale plot in existence. Kids will love it, but it also has enough substance for adults to enjoy. Tickets are going for $7-9.

Or if fairy tales aren't your cup of tea, go see Zorro at the Hale Centre Theatre. It's the story of a wealthy landowner, who witnesses injustice in his village and decides to don a black mask and cape. Basically, he's sort of like a hispanic Batman. This show has been getting great reviews. Curtain goes up at 6:30 p.m.

For something a little more sophisticated, why not sit in on the Utah Symphony's Beethoven Sonatas at Abravanel Hall? At 7 p.m. tonight, pianist Jason Hardink will be performing and discussing Beethoven's middle sonatas to a small crowd of 150. Tickets are only $10.

Other things today that are way better than Chili's:

- Trivia with Geek's Who Drink at Devil's Daughter Bar and Grill

- Screening of Miss Representation at the Grand Theatre

- Stand-up comedian Jackie Kashian at Wiseguys Comedy
