Earlier this month, the plot of Drop Dead Gorgeous played out for real (or very nearly so) in Everett, Wash. ---
According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, "norovirus caused more than 200 illnesses among people who attended a state cheerleading tournament. ... Symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea had been reported by 229 people."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have a helpful article about "Norovirus -- the stomach bug." (Aww, "the stomach bug." Like all viruses, norovirus just needs a good tagline to make it more loveable.)
Now, there's nothing funny about hundreds of cheerleaders spewing from both ends at a state tournament -- unless it's this 1999 dark-comedy Kirsten Dunst vehicle. Well, of course, the movie was about beauty contestants, not cheerleaders. There's a huge difference. Huge, do you hear me? Huge!
But that difference is hilarious (cue up to 3:28 or thereabouts):
