It’s that time of year when music fans are bewildered with lists -- some expansive, others more distilled. Here’s one for the folkies out there: the award-winning recipients from the local, inaugural IAMMIES.---

The IAMMIES is a Grammy-esque awards ceremony hosted by the Intermountain Acoustic Music Association and held Dec.10 at United Church of Christ. While IAMA has been around for 20 or so years, and long has kicked around the idea of doing such an awards program, this was the first. IAMA board member Bob Cantonwine said the event went off without a hitch and was a pretty swell time all-around. Winners in 16 different categories were voted on by the organization’s 500 members. Here’s the rundown of which acoustic musicians to be mindful of in 2012. For more information about IAMA and its regular concerts, visit the Website.
