Creeping up on Christmas, there are still a few ways to entertain yourself besides shopping and TV holiday specials.---

Jerry Joseph, who is pretty much an honorary Utahn, is playing a gig Tuesday at Burt's Tiki Lounge, along with percussionist Steve Drizos. Joseph is a fine songwriter and will be showcasing tunes from his new CD, Into the Lovely. The show starts at 9 p.m., and it's just $10.

Kilby Court is hosting a somewhat rare hard-rock show, featuring Huldra, Dustbloom, We Drop Like Bombs, Chevalier and Analog Dialogue, starting at 7 p.m.

The Utah Film Center is hosting an incredibly timely free screening at the Main Library; Malls R Us takes a look at North America's enclosed shopping meccas and how they define us as a people. Should be funny and scary at the same time. It starts at 7 p.m.
