Lounge Act Weekend: Kick off December with style

So many ways to get December started off right this weekend: Here are a few suggestions.---
FRIDAY
Friday night, it's not a matter of IF there is something to do, but choosing which of many killer opportunities to partake in. It's the SLC gallery stroll, so you can check out art all over town.
Pioneer Theatre Company is opening its latest production, the family fave Annie, while Ballet West's annual production of The Nutcracker gets off and rolling, as well.
Music lovers will want to check out a little gypsy rock at The Depot, courtesy of Beats Antique. Or, if you're more of a funk and soul fan, Ozomatli has it on lock at The State Room. The Music Garage is hosting a grand reopening celebration at its new facility, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Salt Palace Convention Center is hosting a show, the Earth Angels Holiday Benefit Concert, that will raise money for needy children.
SATURDAY
Desert Noises is hosting a CD-release party Saturday at Velour in Provo, and with the attention the Provo band is getting, this might be our last chance to see them in Utah for a while.
Over at The Saltair in Magna, Kid Rock brings his charity tour to town, complete with his Twisted Brown Trucker band. The State Room hosts Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers Saturday night at 9 p.m.
The Jingle Bell Run & Walk for Arthritis is Saturday at 10 a.m., starting at Trolley Square.
SB Dance is hosting a benefit show called WTF!, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Rose Wagner. Expect the unexpected with this, the edgiest of all local dance groups.
SUNDAY
The Craft Sabbath Holiday Boutique starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, so get your shopping done early and enjoy yourself for the rest of the month.
Sunday evening, you can catch Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real (yes, that's Willie's son leading the band) at The State Room, or get a little folkie with Nathaniel Rateliff, David Williams, Sam Burton and Kelli Moyle at The Urban Lounge.
