Who doesn’t love chocolate? But the chasm between run-of-the-mill grocery-store chocolate and fine artisan goodness is vast. And that’s where Matt Caputo drops some knowledge.---

For this podcast, City Weekly spoke with Matt Caputo, marketing director at Tony Caputo’s Market (314 W. 300 South). Matt is a locavore aficionado and connoisseur of wine, cheese, chocolate and so on. He joined City Weekly to talk about the world of fine chocolate.

Caputo’s Market offers a slew of tasting classes, including an Intro to Fine Chocolate. The next class will be held Monday, Dec. 5 at 7:15 p.m., followed by more in 2012. Cost for tasting classes is $25. For those who attend and become impassioned with the art, there is a local chocolate society. Also, it’s worth checking out this article about Orem-based Amano Artisan Chocolate, who is making some of America’s best chocolate.
