Down Provo way, it's a punky reggae party with Passafire (pictured), Sober Down and Tatanka at Velour. I'm not going to suggest the pent-up folks at BYU could probably use more reggae in their lives, but ... well, actually, that's exactly what I'm suggesting.
Here in Salt Lake City, make a stop at Sam Weller's downtown to check out the art show Passage: A Tribute to Place, a show that captures a little of the bookstore's history before it moves to Trolley Square and showcases some of Utah's finest contemporary artists, too.
And up in Ogden, history buffs will want to drop in to Weber State University's Dumke Legacy Hall at 7 p.m. for a lecture by distinguished historian Elliott West about the American West before Lewis and Clark arrived to muck it up. It's free and should be enlightening.
