Only one new arrival at Wasatch Front bargain theaters, but it's a biggie: The cinematic farewell to a beloved young wizard. ---

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 would have had to try to alienate viewers who have followed Harry's adventures for more than a decade. And it's fair to say that while it's far from a perfect piece of filmcraft, director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves know exactly how to guide audiences to the satisfying conclusion. The action set pieces are stronger than in other recent installments, yet there's also an unexpected emotional force to many scenes. Maybe it's satisfying mostly as the culmination of an epic story, but it nails giving its mythic tale of passage to adulthood a lovely humanity.
