Tuesday features some great authors, tunes and assorted other activities to sate your entertainment itch.---
This is sure to be a great show: Over The Rhine (pictured) is a husband-and-wife team that creates some stunning roots music. Their latest album, The Long Surrender, offers more ample evidence that Over The Rhine is a band to keep an eye on, no matter what they do or how much time they spend between albums.
If you're in the mood for something a little more rocking, Pepper is headlining a gig at In The Venue, and the Uproar Festival featuring Avenged Sevenfold and a slew of other young rock acts is at Usana Amphitheater Tuesday night. Ziggy Marley brings a fine ear for the reggae made by his father, and his own deep catalog, to The Depot.
You might know ace violinist Gerald Elias as a music prof at the U or as a member of the Utah Symphony, but he's also an accomplished author who now boasts three mysteries on his resume. His series features a blind, misanthropic musician named Daniel Jacobus, and his latest adventure is titled Death and the Maiden. Elias will read from and sign the book at The King's English Tuesday at 7 p.m.
