Sunday you can join the Gandhi Alliance for Peace in celebrating the great peacemaker’s birthday at an event combing Indian dance, remarks on the legacy of Gandhi and multicultural calls for peace and harmony.---
Come to the Jordan Peace Gardens this Sunday where the 2011 Gandhi Peace Award will be presented to University of Utah’s Dean of the S.J. Quinney College of Law Hiram Chodosh. Chodosh will present remarks on his award and the legacy of Gandhi at an event that will also feature traditional Indian dance performances, music by the First Unitarian Church’s Junior Singers, a call to prayer from Masood Ul-Hasan of the Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake as well as traditional Tibetan Buddhist chanting courtesy of Urgyen Samteng Ling Congregation.
Check it out, Sunday, Oct. 2, 4-5 p.m., at Jordan Park, 1000 S. 900 West
