Here we have some Humpday happenings for your perusing pleasure.---

Author Amy Kalafa was inspired to create the 2007 documentary Two Angry Moms via a desire to expose the deficiencies of public-school lunches. Her new book, Lunch Wars, is a handbook meant to help people fight the good nutritional fight in their own communities. She'll be at The King's English at 7 p.m. for a free chat and signing.

Amy Lavere and Star Anna & the Laughing Dogs share a bill Wednesday at The State Room, delivering a dose of tasty Americana to SLC on Wednesday night. At Kilby Court, MC Chris showcases his witty rhyming skills via a performance of his new themed album Race Wars, which he describes as “a post-apocalyptic car movie in the same vein as the Mad Max trilogy.”

Down in Provo, Fictionist (pictured) celebrates their signing to Atlantic Records with a hometown show, accompanied by Paul Jacobsen & The Madison Arm.
