If you can't bear to wait until October for a taste of Ballet West, you can get an early start tonight -- plus a chance to help determine what you'll see in the spring. ---
Ballet West's "Curtain Up" event began last night (Sept. 8), with a first look at six works in progress that are being considered for the next installment of the annual Innovations program. The second preview comes tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Center, with the dancers/choreographers available after the performances to discuss their work with the audience. Then, those in attendance will get to vote for three of the six that they'd most like to see on the May 2012 Innovations program.
Reservations are currently closed for the event, but walk-ups are available on an non-guaranteed, first-come first-served basis. Tickets are only $5 to get a glimpse at Ballet West's next great original creations.
