This art stroll is all about parties and group shows.---

Many a contemporary Utah artist has packed their bags for Los Angeles this weekend, but fear not: They will return. Curated by Micol Hebron, the exhibition West of Center will feature 23 Utah artists at the Jancar Gallery . If you can't make it to California, take solace by listening to our podcast interview with Hebron.

Another group show consisting of local (and national) artists is taking place in town. Over at House Gallery, Julie Dunker has curated the first ever Salt Lake City Biennial. That term usually connotes the highest echelon of work and artists, so we shall see if it lives up to the name.

Next to House Gallery, at Blonde Grizzly, the whole gang from Goodtimes Tattoo—and there’s a lot of them—will be showing the art they produce that doesn’t involve using people as the canvas.

A Cornucopia of Utopia is what the Salt Lake Art Center is calling its multi-faceted evening which will include a fashion show, Fruity Fashions (in case you missed it at last Saturday’s Downtown Farmers Market), the New Age-y movie 2012: Time for Change, the 337 Project Art Truck’s newest installation “Utopia” by Peter Everett, and fresh fruit to munch on to complement the Fallen Fruit of Utah exhibition.

Last year’s inaugural Broadway Summer Stroll has moved to Pierpont Avenue and has changed names to Artiscene. Like last year, there will be craft vendors and artisans selling goods from booths, while the Pierpont shops and galleries open their doors for exhibitions, including Gray Wall Gallery’s Group Show and McGrew Studio’s July-o-Ween. Read here for our article about the Pierpont revitalization.
