From political fixer to gluten-free baker

Tim Lawson, the controversial friend and campaign fundraiser to Mark Shurtleff was cryptic about his activities when City Weekly spoke with him last. But now apparently he’s made the plunge into the baking business.---
Lawson who was featured in a cover story earlier this year as the controversial friend of Shurtleff’s who has not only helped set up campaign donations to Shurtleff’s campaign from Jeremy Johnson and call center company Mentoring of America, is now entering the baked goods business, hawking his own line of gluten-free goods.
He’s already got some promotion help from Shurtleff who gave Lawson a shout out over twitter. “Whether you’re gluten intolerant or not you MUST try Tim Lawson’s” gluten free foods, Shurtleff tweeted.
Lawson’s New Grains Gluten Free Bakery in Provo caters to people who have an intolerance to gluten such as Lawson himself who suffers from Celiac, an autoimmune disease that causes gluten intolerance.
On Lawson’s website he’s posted acknowledgments of support to family, doctors and friends including Shurtleff.
“To most, in this great State of Utah, Mark is the strongest Attorney General to every ware the mantel of AG (sic). They see him as the ‘Shield of Truth’ against injustice, the voice of the faceless masses and the ‘Sword of Justice’ for the people’s right to live in a free Democracy.” Lawson writes. “To me, he was my dear friend, my sounding board and my confidant that always listened, always cared, and always tolerated me.”
