Want to start getting yourself fired up for director Peter Jackson's in-production The Hobbit? How about spending nearly 12 hours in a theater with The Lord of the Rings trilogy? ---

Fathom Events -- purveyor of special theatrical events like the Metropolitan Opera and Glenn Beck monologues -- is presenting a special three-night return to theaters for Jackson's Lord of the Rings films in their extended DVD versions. The Fellowship of the Ring (June 14), The Two Towers (June 21) and The Return of the King (June 28) will each get a one-night, one screening showcase at theaters nationwide at 7 p.m. local time, including Cinemark and Century Theatres locations in Utah. The program includes plenty of extended and additional scenes that have never before been seen on the big screen, plus a special introduction from director Jackson on the set of The Hobbit.

You will need to ask yourself how much you really want your precious; adult tickets are $11.50 per night. Just keep in mind that June 28 also marks the release date of the 15-disc Blu-Ray version of the extended-edition trilogy.
