Locals have long known that Spy Hop Productions collects some of the best teen filmmakers in the state. Now there's confirmation that they're some of the best in the world. ---
The Westport Youth Film Festival of Connecticut -- which touts itself as "the only film festival in the world that is produced by teens and features films made by teens" -- last month selected its lineup of 50 short films in a variety of categories to screen in a variety of categories on May 14 in Fairfield, Conn. Fifty shorts were selected to be shown to a panel of film industry professionals including filmmakers, actors and critics, drawing from around the country and four other nations. And three of those 50 slots were taken by Spy Hop participants.
Congratulations to Samantha Highsmith, Cassandra Taylor and Adrianna Martinez (Streeters); Sarah Schuster-Johnson, Loren Ruiz and Candida Duran (Silhouettes) and Jordan Brockman, Russell Williams and Zachary Allred (Rock Is in the Air). Judging will take place throughout the month of April, to be announced at the festival.
