Discover, Gather, Cook! @ Bambara

This Saturday, April 16, from 1 to 4 PM, Bambara executive chef Nathan Powers will conduct the next installment in his quarterly cooking class/demo series called Discover, Gather, Cook! --- As part of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants national EarthCare Week initiatives, Powers and his culinary team will center the class on creating dishes featured in the special "Earth Week Extravaganza" menu that will be offered in the restaurant April 18-23.

Developed by Bambara's award-winning Chef Powers along with Chef Elise Wiggins from Panzano restaurant in Denver, Discover, Gather, Cook, cooking class series' core philosophy is about discovering the gifts that our local land offers. The classes are live demonstrations in Bambara's exhibition kitchen and include a hearty late lunch.Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.The cost for the class is $55 and $5 for each participant will go to Water for Wildlife. The cost does not include tax, alcoholic beverages or gratuity.

Since 1977, the Water for Wildlife Program of the One-Shot Antelope Hunt Foundation has sponsored this water conservation program designed to benefit our nation’s wildlife. Chef Powers has been on The Lander One Shot Antelope Hunt for the last three years, accompanying his father in-law, who has been going for more than 30 years and is currently on the board of directors of the organization.

"I'm very excited to continue these quarterly cooking classes so that we can delve into the bounty of organic meat, cheese and greens that celebrates our long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and care,” said Chef Powers. “At Kimpton, every day we devote time and energy to caring for the earth and our local communities. I look forward to sharing tips, techniques and recipes with a focus on our local organic farmers and ranchers, including Morgan Valley Lamb, local cheeses and organic greens."
