Antiques Roadshow meets Wayne’s World at this week’s International Vintage Guitar Collectors Association event. No “Stairway to Heaven,” please!---

You know that old, dusty guitar sitting in your attic? The one you haven’t played since college, when you would strum three soulful chords to get chicks? Turns out that dust repository could actually be worth something. According to the IVGCA, this something could be big bucks.

If you’re ready to at least test the waters and see what your guitar might be worth, bring it to the Red Lion Hotel April 5-9 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (4 p.m. on Saturday, April 9). An expert will take a look and make an offer based on what the IVGCA’s collectors will pay. If you accept, you’ll be paid on the spot and your instrument will be whisked away to destinations unknown.

Guitars of all brands and vintages will be assessed, as will amplifiers, bass guitars, mandolins, saxophones and many more instruments. The promoters ask that you “keep an open mind when going through your attics and closets.” So, if you’re ready to let your old axe go, bring it to the experts at IVGCA and let them work their magic.
