In what has to be considered a coup for local foodies, the organization Outstanding in the Field is coming to Utah this summer to host a dinner at Sandhill Farms, in Eden. --- If you aren't familiar with Outstanding in the Field, here is how they describe what they do:

"Our mission is to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it. Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure - literally a restaurant without walls. Since 1999 we have set the long table at farms or gardens, on mountain tops or in sea caves, on islands or at ranches. Wherever the location, the consistent theme of each dinner is to honor the people whose good work brings nourishment to the table."

Ingredients for the dinners are mostly locally sourced and typically prepared by a chef from the area. To that end, Outstanding in the Field will host a dinner featuring Pago chef Michael Richey at Eden's Sandhill Farms, where mountain garlic is Pete Rasmussen's farm specialty. The dinner takes place at 4:00 PM on July 17, 2011.

You might think that such an event would appeal to common folk, and you'd be right. But you need to be in a pretty high tax bracket to be able to afford to attend. Tickets go on sale on March 20 and are priced at $180.00 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here
