A family-owned automotive shop at 3900 S. and 2300 East will be arguing against Granite School District condemning their business tonight to add an addition to Olympus High School.---

“This is a waste of taxpayer money,” says Richard Smith of Steve’ Automotive Specialists, the auto body shop that has been located for the past three decades at 3911 S. 2300 East. “They’ve given us zero consideration.”

At the hearing tonight Smith plans to argue that the plans for an addition to Olympus High ignore the possibility that they need not demolish his business. He believes alternative construction possibilities have not seriously been considered. “We’re pretty disgusted with the process,” he says. “We don’t have anywhere to move.”

Tonight members of the public can discuss the school’s plans at a special hearing at 7 p.m. at the Granite School District Offices, at 2500 S. State, Auditorium A
