In preparation for Tim DeChristopher’s trial on Monday, Peaceful Uprising has loads of activities, rallies and music events to support their cause and to entertain—no matter someone’s political inclinations. But there’s also fun to be had elsewhere, in abundance.---

Check out Jesse Fruhwirth’s blog for a general wrap-up of activities or our Listings post. The big musical event will be on Sunday with Alex Ebert (of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Ima Robot) performing with local musicians, including Joshua James, at the Urban Lounge. Read our interview with Ebert here.

Elsewhere on the music front, Hot Buttered Rum will be throwin’ down with their heavy bluegrass jams at The State Room tonight, while Abe Vigoda and Wild Nothing perform some indie rock at Kilby Court. Lincoln Park and The Prodigy will also play tonight, if you’re into that sort of thing... The following evening at Kilby Court, Rooney and Eisley share the stage; definitely catch family-band Eisley open (I’m not to keen on Rooney though). Later that night at Burt’s Tiki Lounge, the all-girl band Vanity Theft, might just be interesting enough to watch and be surprised by.

It’s a big weekend in theater with Another Language Interplay’s Dual-Ality Version 1.0, Pygmallion Theatre Company’s Well, Pioneer Theatre Company’s In and Plan-B Theatre Company’s Mesa Verde all in full swing. I saw Well last night and can attest that it is like no other play I’ve ever seen with its quirky, abnormal, question-posing “exploration.”

Chill out Sunday because next week is full of musical happenings: Octopus Project, Devotchka, Portugal, the Man and so on. Enjoy the weekend, ya'll.
