Lounge Act Wednesday: Puppets, Japanese artists and an "eco-chef

For those about to get their Sundance on, consider tonight the last night of sanity for a while. For the rest of us, well, let's call it the beginning of the weekend. Why not?---
Utah Opera's take on the children's classic Hansel and Gretel continues its run at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. It's always good to add a little high-minded culture in the mix, especially if you can take the kids along.
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is hosting a lecture about Yayoi Kusama's Decades show by curator Jill Dawsey, who will talk about the influential artists' work from the '50s and '60s. It's free and starts at 6 p.m.
Ventriloquist/comedian Jeff Dunham brings his puppets and inexplicable fame with his Identity Crisis Tour to EnergySolutions Arena Wednesday night for a show at 7:30 p.m.
At Westminster College Wednesday, check out eco-chef and food justice advocate Bryant Terry's free lecture at 7:30 p.m., when he'll be discussing how to build a more just and sustainable food system using cooking as a tool to make visible the intersections among poverty, structural racism and food insecurity.
And if you just can't wait for official Sundance to open Thursday, Park City has a show by Banyan (pictured) at Harry O's, and one by Utah's own Neon Trees at the Star Bar (which during Sundance you'll hear referred to as the House of Blues). Both start at 9 p.m.
