Well 2011 is kicking off to a slow start on the release end, but it doesn't mean there isn't new work being put out. --- So today while there may be no release shows, we can at least point you in the direction of two new albums out this week. Starting with The Gorgeous Hussies... who are breaking up. That's right, they're done! Or at least done for now, as we all know, never say never around here. But due to other obligations they're putting the band on the shelf. To “celebrate” the occasion the members are releasing their complete catalog in one download! Discography: 2006-2011 contains all 25 songs form their awesome full-length album and all the EP's, along with a previously unreleased bonus track entitled “Good To Go”. You can click here to download the album from iTunes for just $10.

Speaking of downloads, Knife Show is back with a brand new EP out. The four-piece ambient rock band out of Eagle Mountain have been pretty quiet the past couple of years but have remained together to hit the five-year marker in January. The band looked to be on a pretty good roll with their 2008 debut Here Until It's Gone, but few shows or performances followed in 2009 and not a peep release wise. A few of us thought they may have just silently ended the band. But this week they officially released Exoskeleton, a quick five track release that while containing shades of the past, show the band taking a slightly different course with their music. And as a bonus... its free! You can click on their Bandcamp page for the download.
