What’s new this weekend:
Young Justice (Cartoon Network, tonight) Series Debut: It’s teen Justice League! Kid Flash and Superboy are still pretty good superhero names, but Aqualad? Just when you thought they couldn’t gay him up any further.
Also new tonight:
Supernanny (ABC); Medium, CSI:NY (CBS); Merlin (SyFy); Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cartoon Network); The Soup (E!)
Change of Plans (Fox, Saturday) Movie: Instead of Cops and America’s Most Wanted, Fox is letting Walmart and Proctor & Gamble try to bring back “Family Movie Night” (again), this time with Change of Plans: A carefree childless couple (Joe Flanigan and Brooke White) inherit four kids after their friend is killed in the Peace Corp (just go with it). Christian groups see this as a heartwarming Valuable Life Lesson; I see it as a giant pain in the ass with no legal basis—did the couple sign any paperwork on this? And think of the criminals that’ll go uncaught because Cops and AMW are off tonight. For shame.
Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday) Jim Carrey hosts for the first time in 15 years; The Black Keys play SNL for the first time ever. Dream sketch: Carrey and Keys’ drummer Pat Carney in a tall, geeky percussion-off a la the classic Jack Black/Will Ferrell bass-off of 2002.
Californication (Showtime, Sunday) See True TV (Item 1).
Episodes (Showtime, Sunday) See True TV (Item 2).
Shameless (Showtime, Sunday) See True TV (Item 3).
The Cape (NBC, Sunday) See True TV (Item 4).
Bob’s Burgers (Fox, Sunday) See True TV (Item 5).
Also new Sunday:
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters (ABC); CSI: Miami, Undercover Boss (CBS); The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy (Fox); Bridalplasty, Kendra (E!); Sarah Palin’s Alaska (TLC)
Preview: Californication is finally back, with sex & drugs & rock & roll & Rob Lowe. Sorry about the blurred tits.
