There are a plethora of great dining options for New Year's Eve this year. The tempting New Year's Eve menus I've seen include Bambara, Blue Boar Inn, Fleming's, Franck's, --- Frida Bistro, Grand America, Log Haven, Lugano, The New Yorker, Pago, The Paris Bistro, Spruce, Tin Angel Cafe and Tuscany.
I won't be in Utah for New Year's Eve this year. But if I was, I'd probably head up to Zucca Trattoria, in South Ogden. Chef Elio Scanu's dinner menu looks like an exceptional way to ring in the New Year.
The Zucca New Year's dinner menu includes tuna "susci"; cauliflower panna cotta; Provencal-style sea bass with rock shrimp & lobster brodetto and fennel frond foam; cavatelli with braised rabbit; roasted organic chicken with foie gras emulsion; Ibis coffee-rubbed Mishima Ranch tenderloin with glas de viande; Taleggio and chestnut honey; and "Icoa" El Rey white chocolate semifreddo. Whew! That's quite a meal, and each course comes paired with optional wines.
The cost for the Zucca New Year's Eve dinner, which begins at 7:00 PM, is $65 per person for food and $45 for the wine pairings, tax and gratuity not included. For reservations, call 801-475-7077 or visit MyZucca.com.
