I never thought I'd say it, but I'm going to miss Sen. Bob Bennett.---
Take a look at this map showing how the vote went state-by-state to advance the New START treaty. Utah's red-state neighbors Arizona, Idaho and Wyoming each cast two Senate votes against allowing a vote on the treaty to limit nuke proliferation.
Surprisingly, Utah got it half right: One for, and one against. The good guy? Bennett. Apparently, since Senator-elect Mike Lee will replace him in 2011, Bennett had nothing to lose by making the sensible choice, regardless of how much it might irritate Utah hawks.
The final Senate vote is slated for Wednesday.
