The first week of Conan on TBS attracted over 4 million viewers, and most of them were 20 years younger than the demo that watches the rest of the late-night talkers. Is that why he takes Friday nights off? ---

What’s new this weekend:
Smallville (The CW, tonight) Teri Hatcher Alert: See kids, like, a hundred years ago, there was a TV series called Lois & Clark, costarring Teri Hatcher (who’s now a Desperate Housewife). Tonight, Hatcher appears as the mother of Smallville’s Lois (Erica Durance) via videotape—another previous-century artifact. Meanwhile, Clark (Tom Welling) runs afoul of some pissed-off women from a Def Leppard video (right) at the Granny Goodness orphanage.

Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO, Tonight) Season Finale: Bill’s final panelists for 2010 are author Nora Ephron, filmmaker Michael Moore and correspondent Jessica Yellin; the interviewees are Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak and former Arkansas guv/current terrible Fox News host Mike Huckabee.

Also new tonight:
Medium, CSI:NY, Blue Bloods (CBS); The Good Guys (Fox); Supernatural (The CW); School Pride (NBC); Law & Order: UK (BBC America); The Benson Interruption (Comedy Central); Sanctuary (SyFy); The Soup (E!)

Back From Hell: A Tribute to Sam Kinison (Comedy Central, Saturday) Sam Kinison wasn’t just about screaming; his comedy was actually pretty cerebral and, at times, touching—the screaming just makes for better promos. Clips of the late comedian (who died in ’92) are interspersed with commentary by Denis Leary, Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Kathy Griffin and other not-dead comics.

Also new Saturday:
Outlaw (NBC) Series Finale: Jimmy Smits needs a new job; Saturday Night Live (NBC) Scarlet Johansson hosts; Arcade Fire play.

Bored to Death (HBO, Sunday) Read all about it in this week’s True TV (Item 1).

Sarah Palin’s Alaska (TLC, Sunday) Read all about it in this week’s True TV (Item 2).

Dexter (Showtime, Sunday) Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Lumen (Julia Styles) infiltrate a Jordan Chase self-help seminar/“Take It”-palooza as the codependent revenge plot against her attackers rolls oddly on. Just like Sons of Anarchy in Ireland, looks like the Julia Styles thing is going to play out through the rest of the Dexter season, so just lie back and ... no, never mind …

Also new Sunday:
The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, American Dad (Fox); Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters (ABC); The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, CSI: Miami (CBS); The Walking Dead (AMC); Kendra, Married to Rock (E!); Boardwalk Empire (HBO)

Preview: As pointed out by BuzzFocus.com, Dex and Lumen seem very Jack Bauer/Chloe O'Brien in this clip from Sunday’s Dexter.
