The Yalecrest Historic District Curse

At last week’s Historic Landmark Commission meeting, God decided to enter the contentious debate and place a pox upon the city’s planners—according to one resident.---
City Weekly has reported before that the debate centering around the proposed Yalecrest Historic District has brought some big names into the small neighborhood debate, including former Gov. Michael Leavitt to speak publicly against the proposed historic district. But at the Nov. 3 Historic Landmark Commission, meeting city staff learned, that according to Yalecrest resident Monte Luker, God decided to throw his two cents into the debate by cursing city planners for proposing the historic designation to the neighborhood.
Luker who introduced himself as a resident of the “Historic Yalecrest Enslavement Community” in a calm and collected voice explained to the committee that realizing he was up against a city looking to take away his property rights, Luker had to turn to God for advice.
God’s advice: “He [God] said he would curse you like he has cursed others in the past. You have cursed us, he will curse you--you will have no rights to your property, to your free agency, so I say to you, in the name of God and by the power of his priesthood I curse you. Thank you,” Luker told the committee.
At that point Luker’s time ran out before he could explain the curse which he said went into effect that night.
