Paros is famous for its marble. Venus de Milo was carved from Parian marble as were many other famous statues of antiquity. Since photography was invented not too many marble statues are being created. That's quite a loss as they are really beauties to behold.---

No matter, photography will have to do in this instance. Anyway, there's marble all over the place here-and most of Greece--comprising everything from room interiors to city sidewalks. Day one started a bit breezy and cool but yesterday, Friday, was very nice and everyone found their way to a beach or a pool. Most of the beach goes landed at Little Santa Maria beach just outside Naoussa. It's a protected cove and although some beaches were being pounded by the wind, this one had barely a ripple.

Today, it's even warmer and everyone is once again wet. I feel guilty as sin wasting the sun like this, so I'm going to make it short again and hit the water. The photos are typical Paros scenes: The blue waters along the way to Little Santa Maria, an alleyway at night in the center of Paroikia the largest town on Paros, the sunset from Paroikia, looking to Little Santa Maria from a nearby cafe, the Greek specialty of kokkoretsi being cooked in a village taverna in Lefkes, Paros and a view of the hills and village of Lefkes. Finally a picture of most of the group getting their feet wet for the first time at Kolybithres beach on Paros.

Tomorrow, we board our ferry for our final two nights in Greece on the island of Santorini.
