The Great Pumpkin Dearth of 2010 is upon us! But orange you glad there's a local way to squash that problem? ---

As multiple news outlets have reported in recent weeks -- and shoppers have discovered at their local supermarkets -- canned pumpkin is in short supply (though likely to reappear before Thanksgiving). In the meantime, Wasatch Community Gardens is ready to sate your pumpkin jones with its 7th annual Pumpkinfest at the Historic Sandy Garden (8880 South 500 East). Saturday, September 25, from 2 p.m. - dusk, you can buy pumpkins straight from the patch for carving, eating or decorating. Live music and kids' activities will also be part of the event, so no one will be bored out of their gourd.
