Saturday, July 17: Salt Lake City's Wasatch Roller Derby is hosting an outdoor invitational scrimmage at Park City's Trailside Park to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah--and yes, there's beer.---

For spectators (from Wasatch Roller Derby):
"Roller Derby returns to Park City this summer for the second year. The ladies of Wasatch Roller Derby once again invite everyone out to enjoy an afternoon of roller derby action and giving to back to the community! This year’s charity is Big Brother Big Sisters of Utah (bbbsu.org). WRD will donate 40 percent of the net proceeds to the charity.

"The day’s roller derby events will include two 30-minute periods featuring all-female skaters from all Utah leagues and adjoining states. Following this there will then be two 30-minute periods open to all co-ed skaters. Men and women mix it up to raise money for charity!

"All tickets are general admission: $10 in advance, $12 at the door, children 5 and under are free. [Doors at 4 pm, bout at 4:30 pm] Tickets are available at Hoppers (890 Fort Union Blvd., Midvale), WasatchRollerDerby.com or at the door the day of the event. Seating is limited and guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blanket. For the best view, join us trackside and bring a blanket for a seat. Must be 18 years of age to sit trackside. There will be concessions available during and after the scrimmage. Plates including a burger, chips and a drink will be available for $5. Beer will be available for purchase for patrons over 21 with proper ID"

For skaters and refs who want to participate:
"Registration will begin at 3:30 pm. Registration includes ability to skate in appropriate divisions (female only and co-ed). One day registration is $15. Register for both days for only $25. USARS or WFTDA insurance is required. Insurance day passes will be available for an additional $15. Skaters must bring both a black and a white shirt with a 4-inch number clearly marked on the back.

"Referees: All refs invited, bring your stripes! Come to skater registration. All refs must also have proper insurance. Bout Rules: All bouts will be played by the WFTDA Standardized Rules (updated May 26, 2010)."
