Hale Center Theatre Silver Anniversary

It may feel as though high-quality community theater in Utah has always been synonymous with the name "Hale." But it was only 1985 when Hale Center Theatre was born, and they're ready to celebrate. ---

In that year, ex-Californians Ruth and Nathan Hale decided retirement was a bit too bland for them, and they brought their 35 years of community theater-running experience to launching a family-friendly operation in Utah. On Monday, July 12, the West Valley City theater -- which once was a lingerie factory -- opens its doors to the public as part of a silver anniversary celebration. From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., staffers will guide visitors on backstage tours and answer questions about the theater's operations over the last 25 years. In keeping with the current production, The Wedding Singer, staff will be in vintage 1980s attire, and an '80s cover band will provide entertainment.
