Bye bye UFC

UFC announced Salt Lake City has lost the venue for it’s August 1 fight to San Diego.---
UFC president Dana White cited sluggish ticket sales as the reason to move the fight to the San Diego Sports Arena for the same day. The fight would have headlined with a bout between Jon Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko.
While Utah has a strong MMA fan base, some have figured the slow ticket sales may have had to do with the fact that the fight was scheduled for a Sunday--which would have made the fight an unorthodox Sabbath-day outing for Utah’s large LDS population.
