Tomas Hollenbach has not let a brain tumor diagnosis earlier this year slow him down. The fundraiser for Hollenbach and Brain Tumor Awareness is next Saturday, May 22.---
Right now is the perfect time to donate for an event like this- at the beginning of the summer, it seems everyone has toys, furniture, books and clothes lying around that you'll likely leave in boxes, move outside for spring cleaning, or maybe drop off at D.I. Instead, make the extra effort to drop these items off on May 21 from 1:30-7 p.m. at Channing Hall Charter School, so the school can sell them in support of brain tumor awareness and the Hollenbach family. If you have no gently used articles to give, consider bringing by some baked goods, hot dogs/buns, individually wrapped chips or cans of soda for the event.
The school is also still looking for businesses to donate any gift cards or other items for the raffle that will be happening in conjunction with the yard sale and barbecue, so if you are a local business owner or just a generous person, consider donating to this worthy cause. For more about Brain Tumor Awareness visit the National Brain Tumor Society.
If you want to donate to the raffle or barbecue, contact Sara Bannon @ sbannon@channinghall.org and for even more on what you can do to help, last week's blog has information on other charitable options.
