May Sweeps Begin Tonight ... April 29

No more reruns: From tonight until around May 26, the broadcast networks really, really care about you, TV viewers! ---

After an April overloaded with more repeats than TV Land (even a Lost rerun, WTF?), the nets are kicking it into high gear with new programming tonight--not that "tonight" matters as much anymore, since only half of younger viewers actually watch TV shows "live" these days, with DVRs now in over 30 percent of 'Merican homes. Downloads (legal or otherwise) should also factor in--how the hell else was I going to catch the last five minutes of Glee since that damned karaoke show can't seem to end on time?

Tonight's new network episodes:

CBS: Survivor: Heroes vs. Villians (see Russell Hantz above, the best and sexiest player in the show's history), CSI and The Mentalist.

NBC: Community, Parks & Recreation (finally!), The Office, 30 Rock and The Marriage Ref (with Sarah Silverman, of all people).

Fox: Bones and Fringe.

ABC: FlashForward (yes, it's still on), Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

The CW: The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

Back to Survivor: This preview for tonight's ep suggests I may have been wrong about Russell--the "best" part, not the "sexy" part:
