The Park City Performing Arts Foundation has had its ups (Feist, Lucinda Williams) and downs (most of last summer's slate) when it comes to booking outdoor concerts at Deer Valley. They just announced the first two confirmed shows of summer 2010.---

On July 4, OneRepublic headlines. And while the Denver band has some hits of its own—most notably "Apologize"—they're almost more famous for the songs band leader Ryan Tedder has written for other artists: "Halo" for Beyonce, "Already Gone" for Kelly Clarkson and "Bleeding Love" for Leona Lewis. While OneRepublic's pop-rock isn't my bag, it's sure to do well as counter-programming to fireworks exhibits across the state.

The foundation also announced Michael McDonald's headlining gig for August 8. Older folks might remember him as the one-time voice of the Doobie Brothers and as a solo star in the '80s. More recently, McDonald has released albums of soul covers, did a vocal for Grizzly Bear's "While You Wait for the Others," and appeared on the 2009 season finale of 30 Rock. Weird fun fact: McDonald co-wrote Van Halen's "I'll Wait" from the band's 1984 album.

Tickets for both shows go on sale May 3 via the Park City Performing Arts Foundation's ParkCityTickets.com site.
