It is with great trepidation that the Salt Blog presents this report of the Twilight: New Moon DVD release from The Word, City Weekly's promotional street team: ---

Friday night at 12:01 am, the Twilight: New Moon DVD was released at the Riverton Walmart. A reported 5,000 fans descended to catch a glimpse of Bella's “human” friends, Justin Chon (Eric), Christian Serratos (Angela) and Michael Welch (Mike).

The stars signed 300 copies of New Moon before doing a 15-minute question-and-answer session with Erin from B98.7's morning show. Justin Chon got the crowd going with his flirtatious manner & Michael Welch, sporting a new dark hairdo, tossed gum out to the crowd and shook hands of a few lucky Twi-fans. Christian was as beautiful as ever and seemed a bit shy when Erin brought up her appearance in People magazine's Most Beautiful issue.

A highlight, which may have been the funniest moment as well, was when Twilight mom Kirsten was asked to smell each cast member to see who smelled better, a question from a Twi-fan. Justin cringed, Christian seemed confused and Michael embraced it, arms stretched out, head back and eyes closed. Kristen declared Michael the winner because he had cologne on. She made sure to state the others smelled clean also.

Walmart handled the event very well considering how many attended, so kudos to them. Be sure to check out Photos & video from the event on Facebook page Salt Lake City Twilight fans and photos on
