Last week, City Weekly's news story "Float On" weighed in on the struggling Hibernian Society's fears of a parade-less St. Patrick's Day. Today the  Hibernian Society sent CW word that the St. Patrick's Day Parade will in fact float on, for at least another year, thanks to a successful Feb. 5 "Save Our Parade" concert fundraiser. Event organizer and long-time Hibernian member Gerald McDonough says that over 400 people were in attendance, so minus expenses, the parade generated funds just short of their $8,000 goal. The difference will be made up in private donations.

So, mark your calenders, get your quilt fitted and stock up on green dye for the March 13 event, which starts at 10:00 a.m.
