X-Dance Action Sports Festival represents tonight with its 2010 awards-ceremony concert featuring Del the Funky Homosapien and Heiroglyphics. The legendary hip-hop artists will perform at Club Elevate (155 W. 200 South) at 7 p.m. Del will also headline Park City's Downstairs tomorrow night.---

Sundance action continues in Salt Lake City at Beehive Tea Room (12 W. 300 South) with Patrick Thomas at 7 p.m.

Head up the canyon (now with much-improved road conditions!) to Park City for Sundance happenings: Mya (not MIA) at Harry O's and Wilmer Valderrama’s B-day Celebration with DJ XXXL at Downstairs.

For non-festival-related fun, hit up Urban Lounge (241 S. 500 East) for White Denim, NOMO and Brazos. My first time seeing White Denim, they knocked the wind out of me. The Texas trio served up a furious serving of live-wire indie-rock with intricate jazz-style undertones. In person, they appear as though someone’s holding a gun off to the side commanding them to play, play, play motherfuckers! Their recorded output is scattered haphazardly across a couple of EPs (including the stunning Let’s Talk About It), a digital-only collection and their Downtown Records debut, Fits (2009), which runs hot and cold with chill slow jams and sweaty freak-outs. White Denim never remain in one place for very long, whether traveling across the stage or cruising musical spectrums. It’s a blast to be a pitstop on their erratic voyage.
