Science Smackdown: Magnesium vs. Joan, Mary, Betty & Dorothy

Spoiler: Magnesium wins, mostly -- even when these "girls" (as they are affectionately/condescendingly referred to by the narrator) bring out the acetylene torches! ---
The reassuring take-home message seems to be that it's perfectly safe to keep large amounts of "Maggie" (ha!) lying around, as long as it's in bulky ingot form rather than rolled out into thin sheets.
