Beware of Phony Haiti Charities

Nothing brings out the vultures like tragedy. According to a press release from the Utah Department of Consumer Protection, one unregistered charity has had to be warned already about soliciting donations to aid victims of the quake in Haiti.---
With thousands likely dead from the onslaught of a devastating earthquake in Haiti, good souls are already scrambling to find ways to send aid. Chances are also that fraudsters are also preparing to setup fake charities to make a dollar off the suffering.
Consumer Protection advises caution with charities soliciting donations and recommends checking any group you might be thinking of donating money to with Consumer Protection’s list of registered charities.
